MISSION & WHO WE ARE
"Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place."
QAS is a member school of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Council - Service Unit 295.
Girl Scouts are organized in Troops according to their grade in school, and the goal is to have a Troop for each grade:
MEETING SCHEDULE
Each Troop meets according to the needs and goals of each Troop and their parent volunteer Troop Leadership Team. Younger girl Troops often meet once a week, while older girl Troops may meet once or twice a month to allow for individual badge work, field trips, or additional experiences outside of the regular meeting place.
NOTE: Per current health and government protocols and Girl Scout Council policies during COVID-19, all Troops are meeting virtually as well as participating in Girl Scout activities with their families.
ACTIVITIES
Girl Scouting is a girl-led, skill, entrepreneurial, and leadership-building program which offers a wide variety of activities including earning badges, performing community service, going camping, creating crafts, and participating in the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program, all in an inclusive and fun way. There are also opportunities to participate in Council-organized events and activities and local Service Unit All-Troop Events in addition to individual Troop meetings and activities.
